The Olliedin Line..

Yesterday brought us our first nautical adventure!  Ollie, myself, Gary and Hollie took Garys boat for a days sailing on the River Trent.  The weather was beautiful, the river was calm and all was good as we took the SS Titanic down to our launch point at North Muskham.  Funnily enough the launch was from a pub garden...I wonder why we chose that??

We were 'messing about' on the water for nearly 5 hours before we'd decided we had annoyed enough fishermen for one day and 'landed' at the pub.  A couple of pints of Abbott ale and a homemade steak and ale pie with mash and veg was just what the Admiral ordered after 5 hrs of pretending to be Special Boat Squadron.

Once we had sorted out the mis firing 2 stroke engine and realised that you actually need to plug in the plug at the bottom of the boat to stop water from coming in we had a ball!

Here's a few pics...

The Sun is shining, the equipment is out...just need to put it all together now!

"It looks like a boat, it looks like a boat"...the excitment builds!

Just 'a short' time later and there you have it. ...

Hi ho, hi ho its off to the river we go...

Final preps and we are launching!

..and off we go, all aboard the SS Titanic...God bless all who sail in her

the weather was perfect

the kids were enjoying it...

the sensible adults were enjoying it..

smiles all day!

"Dad Dad go into the trees!"

Ollie in charge, powering us down the Trent

Tieing up at the Weir just before Newark
"Now i'm not an expert at this mate, but should we really be using the fuel line to tie up with ?" lol

and here's a few videos too

What a great day, cheers Gary and Hollie
