East kirkby - part 2

Just jane heading out to the field for high speed taxy runs

She looks good in the sun

This is the Lanc that  i have a booked ride on in October

Thrilling the passengers on board as she 'bounces' her way down the field

Just for a moment, you could be transported back...

The crowds are thrilled!

She is so close to everyone when she taxys

Back on to the pan after her run

The noise increases...as the four merlins are still working hard

Great nose art work

Once back, the pilot halts her, puts on the brakes then revs the engines up to FULL POWER!

Jo and Ollie enjoying the picnic and pondering over Ollies invention of frozen coke!

Where ever there is a tree to climb and a boy to climb it...

A P-51 Mustang arrived to give a 15 minute flying display

Rolling...

..and wheeling around the sky

The pilot certainly has a roomy cockpit affording good visibility!

After the display it landed right next to us..

and Ollie enjoyed some close up views

Haworth 1940s weekend - part 1

What a great weekend in Haworth!

Good weather, great crowds, met with friends, great beer (esp on the Saturday) good fun!

Most of us dressed up, I was again representing the 101st Airborne and Jo, Andy, Lisa Sharon and Chloe were all in 1940s civilian dress.  Also met Mark, fellow 101st Airborne and Sandy who was also civilian.

Here we go..

'Rolling with the Airborne'

My new mate!  James Lewis from 'Bargain Hunt' and 'Put your money where your mouth is'
They were filming in Haworth and asked me to be in the background

You meet all sorts at these do's - notice strange starey man stage right!

Some of the natives...1940's style

Trimmed up and busy!

Me and my Limey Floosie

Refreshments at Haworth Cricket club - away from the crowds!
