The fun bus home. Were not brahms, honest!
It's Gods job to forgive the Taliban....it's the Royal Marines job to arrange the meeting.

Bourne, Boules and BBQ!
Had a great weekend last weekend at Eddies in Bourne. My mum and dad were still over here following on from the celebrations in Rugby. So, I took Ollie down to meet his Grandma and Grandad. Des and Sharon were there too along with Chloe and Sophie. James and Matthew were there also along with a cast of others..
Whilst the rest of the country appeared to suffering from a down pour we did ok, and apart from Eddies insistence to cook a bbq during the only rainstorm we had we held the inaugural Bourne Boules Championships...one player stood out above the rest....
Ed and Des insisting on cooking the bbq to timetable instead of waiting
for the sunshiiiiiiine!
Ollie playing one of his many winning Boules games..
Ollie being presented with his winners trophy following the weekends Boules Championship...
Apologies for the abrupt ending of the video, but the person taking it
decided to just stop filming!

Frank and Margaret's 50th Wedding Anniversary
Had a great weekend in Rugby, the place I grew up between the ages of 2 and 11. Saw a few of my old haunts but went specifically to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of my friends and old next door neighbours Frank and Margaret Corcorran. Here's a few snaps of a great evening..
Frank, regalling us with his 'speech' lol..
the wine is going down well...
Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil!
raising a toast later that evening..
Too many sherberts..?

Championes, Championes, Ole, Ole, Ole!
Well once again the sun was shining on God's own County and so it was to Denholme where Ollie and his cub mates were to battle away in the Denholme inter cub sportsday. What a great day...
The Games afoot, and Ollie is battling away in the Hockey skills...Ollie and his two team mates in this event would claim 2nd place adding many points to the overall team score.
Not all events were straightforward, the wheel barrow race proved tricky...
If your 'barrow' does'nt respond to your driving.....then drag him to the finish line!
The team powering their way through the first round of the tug-of-war
The 'lads' winning this battle in the tug-of-war..
The winning team!
The boys with their winners shield and pack certificate.
A happy but exhasted team with pack leaders....WELL DONE OLLIE!!
*events included, egg and spoon, race, welly chucking, obstacle course, hockey skills, dress the scarecrow, snowball race, tug of war, flat sprint, relay sprint, three legged race, piggy back race.

Pond Dipping
Now that the summer evenings are here it's time to make most of them. Ollie and myself took our fishing nets down to the river and the nature reserve after school this week to see what we could catch..
It's very nice down at the reserve, Ollie is trying to catch newts.. |
Anything interesting son? We call this the 'Liliypond' ....for obvious reasons.. |
